no tears
no heartfelt pleas
no more forever light
no more future beams
now we both stand alone
on a battlefield where no battle took place
you and your castle turned prison
me and my future
i wonder why tears only stain my face
is it the loss of the dream
no...
not that...
never that...
it is the fact that you refused to hear my screams
never stopped to wonder why my heart didn't beat
but it does now
and i am afraid
the sound is almost deafening
it pounds, shattering the bonds that kept me caged
chained to you
now i am free
alone
listening to the hammering beat of a heart once silent
perhaps you too now are free
to be whoever it is you wanted to be
whoever that is i wish you all the best
let this mark the end
of life lesson number one-hundred and thirty-three

please excuse this sub par excuse for a poem...but it does reflect the sub par end to a sub par life lesson....
